CampusClubs

The goal of engaging campus clubs is three-fold:

(1) to raise awareness of social justice in global public health;

(2) to raise awareness of Nyaya's activities and philosophy; and

(3) to raise funds for ongoing and future Nyaya services.

Students can be an integral part of the Nyaya social support network and engage effectively in fundraising and awareness campaigns. While there are also opportunities for students to intern/live in Achham occasionally, students interested in Nyaya's work are encouraged to utilize their skills in educating their peers about the importance of social justice and health issues, and mobilizing and raising awareness and funds to support health equity. These efforts ultimately further Nyaya's mission to provide healthcare in rural and impoverished areas throughout the world, and are a key aspect of Nyaya's campaign to raise awareness of such work.

Strategies for effective student engagement:

(1) support students by encouraging lectures on their campus to raise awareness, and supporting their viewing of relevant films/reading relevant books;

(2) support students engaged in capital campaigns on campus (i.e., fundraisers of all kinds) through the provision of information and materials to utilize in discussing Nyaya activities;

(3) encourage global health seminars and courses on campuses, to recruit new students;

(4) support the development of a centralized website/wiki/message board subpage for the campus chapters to share ideas and campaigns.
